This month's wedding tip: Entertainment
When it comes to choosing your wedding entertainment the options are endless. All tastes are catered for, from rock bands to jazz quartets, and if bands don’t appeal you could even hire a hypnotist, look-alikes or a caricaturist to keep your guests amused during the reception.
A DJ and disco might not be too popular with those with young children, so it’s important to find a balance that will appeal to a wide range of ages. Look for a DJ who will play music that everyone can dance to. For real family appeal, try a ceilidh band with traditional Irish or Scottish dancing. Almost all bands provide a caller who can instruct your guests so dancing ability won’t be an issue.
If you’re getting married near a town with a university, you could try asking student musicians if they would like to play for you. It’s a great way to find a choir or a string quartet that won’t cost the earth. Talented friends and relatives might also relish the opportunity to add some atmosphere to your wedding by singing or playing. After all, everyone knows that the most memorable weddings aren’t the ones that cost the most but those which are full of personal touches.
